This allows a less stressful and more effective re-entry back to independent daily life.   Our comprehensive eating disorder therapies are provided by certified eating disorder and addictions professionals. These Levels of Care are Available at Our Eating Disorder Treatment Center

We offer three specific levels of care at Monarch Cove. Treatment is provided by a team of highly experienced and licensed clinicians, including therapists, dietitians, and a staff psychiatrist.

Residential Treatment

During residential treatment at Monarch Cove, clients live full-time in our beautiful facility near the Pacific Ocean. Residential treatment at our eating disorder recovery center has a higher degree of structure, monitoring, and support. In the early stages of recovery from an eating disorder this monitored environment is critical.  Clients develop a supportive relationship with their primary therapist, psychiatrist, and dietitian. This trust and support is important for recovery. Treatment modalities in our residential program help each person:
  • Identify issues that led to eating disorders
  • Determine what behaviors have maintained the destructive eating behaviors
  • Learn new coping skills
  • Develop an eating disorder relapse prevention plan
  • Learn and practice healthy nutrition behaviors
  • Address any co-occurring disorders

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Partial Hospitalization at our eating disorder treatment center assists clients who are ready to move out of complete residential care, but aren’t fully recovered enough to attend an intensive outpatient program or return home. PHP is also appropriate for clients who require more intensive treatment, but do not have insurance that covers the residential level of care. Local clients who have a supportive and healthy environment at home can also take part in Monarch Cove’s partial hospitalization program. Our PHP allows more independence and autonomy, but still maintains close monitoring in areas that each individual client may require. During this level of care treatment emphasizes:
  • Practicing and strengthening healthy life skills
  • Continued therapeutic support based on the individual needs of the patient
  • Developing real-life relapse prevention skills

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Monarch Cove’s IOP level of care is for patients who have successfully completed residential treatment, and PHP, but are not completely ready to return home without professional support. Intensive outpatient services are also appropriate for people who do not require a residential program, but still need more structure than outpatient therapy provides. Intensive outpatient care at our eating disorder recovery center includes 1:1 therapy, group therapy, and some supervised meals. Clients continue to put into practice the eating disorder recovery skills that they have already learned, but with a little extra back up support to make the transition less stressful. Treatment plans remain fully individualized and unique to each client’s progressive recovery state. While we don’t offer outpatient services, when clients at Monarch Cove are ready to transition into general outpatient therapy, their primary teams communicates with other professionals outside of Monarch Cove to ensure that treatment goals and progress are shared.
